Excellent hotel and would not hesitate to recommend le Palme
The hotel, pool and lido are super clean always. The food in the evening was outstanding - wonderful use of local cuisine often with modern twists. Wonderful array of vegetables and salads at the evening buffet. The wine I had recommended by the resturant was superb. The water provided at meal times was a lovely bonus. The lido has a lovely position and is especially beautiful in the evening as you can watch the sun set over the sea. Everyone working there was lovely , reception was happy to call places to make a reservation. We had to get the train early on leaving so missed breakfast so they arranged a breakfast box for us which was especially thoughtful. The food at the Lido was very good for a beach bar. My son loved the pizza, coffee at the beach bar was excellent as was the mozzarella. Le Palme is close to some lovely towns but only an hour from Naples by train. The train service to Salerno, Naples and into Cilento is excellent. As well as the historical sites in Paestum which are amazing and as big as Pompei almost there is also a Buffalo farm nearby that makes mozzarella and ricotta. This is very interesting and the buffalo based products such as ice-cream mozzarella and the ricotta cake are fantastic. Although my children are adults I did think what a lovely place Le Palme would have been when they were very young as they have a play area at the hotel and at their Lido - they would have loved it.
The coffee at breakfast was not up to the standards of eveything else at the hotel. Breakfast was plentiful and there were some amazing pastries every day. It would have been good though to have some healthier fresh fruit options. The location is a short walk away from a bus stop at the crossroads in Laura. It was very difficult to get information about the buses. I did ask at the hotel and was told it is not high season and best to use taxis. However, there is a bus timetable back and to Salerno and Agropoli but it is not frequent- there are other bus routes operating but after a week I did not work out their times properly. The hotel could provide perhaps more information for those travellers who want to explore the surrounding area as I wanted to visit surrounding towns such as Cappaccio Capoluogo, Agropoli and Santa Maria Castellabate and Salerno as well as visiting Paestum. These are all beautiful places with lots of cultural and historic sites. It would be really helpful to have a folder with information the tourist can access to help them get around. I did spend unnecessary time waiting for buses. Locally, there is only a tourist information point in Paestum.

Wonderful
Location was rather quite after summer season (we were here end of September), so restful & out of hectic/touristic Amalfi route. Nice sandbeach with bar. Beach easily accessible by foot (100 meters) through the forest. Also bar inside of hotel was good.
For restaurants away from the beach you will need a car.
